GeoCart is a highly customizable system which
allows your customers to browse your store and order items using the
familiar shopping cart paradigm. The key feature of the GeoCart is the
high degree to which it can be customized to fit the needs of your
store without requiring custom programming. Other key features
include:
- All web pages seen by the customer are designed and written by the
Shop Keeper, giving them complete control over the look and feel of
their store.
- GeoCart supports secure server, unsecure server, and dual-server
(secure/unsecure) installations.
- All values, rates, text fields, etc., are customizable by the Shop
Keeper using HTML FORMs, "replacement tags", and the GeoCart Setup file.
- GeoCart can automatically send invoice-style email confirmation to
the customer and Shop Keeper after an order is placed. It can also
display a confirmation to the customer's screen.
- GeoCart can be used to sell any kind of product, including
Gift Certificates with customer-supplied face values.
- GeoCart can vary a product's prices based on the quantity ordered.
- GeoCart can calculate shipping costs using a variety of methods
which can be mixed and matched. Methods include:
- Table lookup of item quantity or cost using tables for each item
supplied by the Shop Keeper.
- Item rate multiplied by the quantity of the item ordered.
- Flat rate per item, regardless of the quantity ordered.
- Table lookup of total order quantity or cost using tables supplied
by the Shop Keeper.
- Table lookup of total order weight and zip code based on shipping
tables (e.g. UPS tables) supplied by the Shop Keeper.
- Shipping for "special" items can be calculated independently. Useful for those
items which must be shipped by themselves.
- GeoCart can compute sales tax automatically based on state. Different rates
can be applied depending on the customer's state. The tax can also be
calculated before or after shipping based on the customer's state.
- GeoCart can verify customer inputs, such as email address and
credit cart number to make sure they match Shop Keeper-defined patterns. These
patterns can also be conditionally evaluated based on other values. For example,
to setup the state and zip code fields to only be checked when the country is the US.
- GeoCart allows the Shop Keeper to customize the Shopping Cart
Contents Table columns, headers, and colors using the GeoCart Setup file.
- Easy navigation among the store pages via SUBMIT or IMAGE buttons.
- When an item is placed in the cart, the customer can be returned
to the product page, the View/Edit Cart page, or a special "Added" page
based on the form SUBMIT button used to add the items to the cart.
- GeoCart can display the cart contents, the customer inputs (such
as name and address), and other values on every page, completely under Shop Keeper
control.
- GeoCart can cause portions of pages to be conditionally displayed
based on conditional statements. For example, a special message could be displayed
whenever the customer's cart contained more than $100 in merchandise!
- GeoCart can carry customer information (such as name and address)
from store to store to make mall shopping easier for the customer.
- GeoCart can save the cart and user information for any length of
time, allowing customers to resume shopping at any time by entering their unique
shopping cart number.
- GeoCart can save orders to disk, allowing the Shop Keeper to access
them via a secure (SSL) web link. This allows the Shop Keeper to obtain
sensitive customer data (such as credit card numbers) safely and securely.
- GeoCart can warn the user if they attempt to leave the store with
unordered items left in their cart.
- GeoCart cart numbers are automatically passed from page to page
as the customer browses, so cookies are not required. The cart numbers can also
be redundantly stored using cookies, making it easier for customers to leave
and return without having to enter their cart number.
- GeoCart can log all store accesses, to give the Shop Keeper
detailed information on how the customers are browsing and using the store.
- GeoCart can send email to the Shop Keeper when any severe
errors occur, such as errors saving information to disk, etc.
